Card Collectors Fantasy Baseball League Week 1 Award Pack Rip!
So after the first week of the Card Collectors Fantasy Baseball League on Yahoo Fantasy, I'm in 5th place with a 6-3-1 record. Not a bad start, but even better is that I won the week 1 showdown with Birth of the Cool/Tunguska over at Long Fly Ball to Because, which entitled me to an award pack! It happened to be a 2008 A&G... and here's what I got!
A really nice hit, much more than I was expecting! Thanks again for the pack! :)

Selling or Trading my Daequan Cook Collection!
I'm parting with my Daequan Cook PC. 82 cards total, 65 auto's with the rest being mostly patch, jersey, parallels, etc.
If you're interested, or know anyone who might be, please let me know. Will either sell or trade as a lot. If trade, I'd really prefer just 1-10 really nice cards in return. Trying to thin out my overall collection. Thanks!

I have an other blog!
So I realize I haven't posted here in quite a while, turns out I've been in a bit of a card funk lately, with nothing really peaking my interest in the card collecting world.
I do however enjoy blogging, so I've made another blog in a different genre: Thrifting. Please visit it, if you so choose!

Trades from a Bearded Man
Fellow blogger Beardy was kind enough to send me these sweet sweet cards in exchange for some O's cards, and since I'm no longer on hiatus I thought I'd show them off.

Johnny Cueto TTT patch auto 71/75. What an awesome card. Sticker auto, yes... but I still love it.

The bat piece on this card looks as if it were pulled from a fire. A fire caused by a BIG RED MACHINE. See what I did there?

This is officially the oldest card I've ever owned. 1931 Play Ball - Harry Francis Craft card #65. Still in great shape too!
Beardy sent many other cards, so if you get a chance to trade with him, go for it... he's very generous!

Happy New Year!
Happy 2010 everyone!
The last few months of 2009 have been packed with card-related posts from me, all very interesting and news-worthy. Unfortunately, I've been posting constantly day after day and getting no replies. Turns out, I had changed the post date to Oct/Nov/Dec 2010, so all of my posts were just put in limbo. Sorry about that. ;) It's all fixed now, promise.

Box Break - 2009 Topps Chrome Football Hobby Box.

I went to my local card shop yesterday, and picked up a box of 2009 Topps Chrome Football for $50. Not a bad deal... and while I did not pull anything great I must say I still enjoy the set very much. Great photography and as always the chrome and refractors just look so cool. My only hit of note was a Mark Sanchez RC, as my auto was no one of interest.

Thrift Store Finds - 1995 X-files MasterVisions 30 art-card collector set!
I was at one of the many thrift stores here in Las Vegas, when I came across an interesting set of cards priced at only $5. It's the 1995 Topps X-files MasterVisions 30 art card set. These cards are approx. 6.5" x 10", and absolutely beautiful:

The 30 card set contains artwork from several different artists, all depicting either general X-files themes or specific moments from the series. I HR-scanned each card and placed them in a photobucket folder, if you're interested n viewing the entire collection, including what the card backs look like, plus the box so you can hunt for them on your own!
If you're interested in find this set online, it can easily be had for as little as $10 sealed and new, or even $.99 plus shipping for an open set.
I hope you enjoyed checking out this old set as much as I did, and don't forget...
Trust no one.

2009 UD Goodwin Champions is LIVE, but...
Upper Decks new baseball product, 2009 UD Goodwin Champions, is now live and available for purchase. Aside from the great artwork and on card autos this set contains, there are 1 per case inserts featuring Bugs(Entomology set), Horse Hair and Landmark bits. The mock-up of these cards look great! They are sure to make many collectors squeal with delight upon pulling one of these beautiful cards:

Sadly, it looks as if this will never happen. Sure, the cards are indeed seeded one per case, but instead of pulling a beautiful butterfly you'll be looking at this:

What a shame. Redemptions. Not only that, but you have no idea which Horse or Bug or Landmark you've pulled until you redeem the card, assuming it will even show you then. It simply says "Entomology Bug Cards". There are 31 different cards in the Entomology set. We can only hope that at least some of the physical cards made it in to the boxes, and they are not all redemptions. Unfortunately, so far everything that has shown up is a redemption.
